HINTS
- Since January 1, 2013, the QST reporting periods of financial institutions registered for the GST/HST are the same as their GST/HST reporting periods.
- Although you might not realize this, all small, part-time business must keep accurate financial records. Without records of business expenses and income, it is impossible to monitor whether or not the business is making money.
- Even the smallest business should have its own checking and savings accounts. Business accounts may be prohibitively expensive for small businesses. Some banks will allow you to open a free "personal" checking account with your business name on the checks.
